Philosophy

Objectives

In the realization of its objectives, The Samahang Ilokano - KABAGIS shall commit itself to:

  1. Public service above self;
  2. Respect and protect the basic rights, lives and properties of all mankind;
  3. Uphold the rule of law and defend the Constitution of the Philippines;
  4. Promote peace and understanding among fellowmen;
  5. Actively support the government and other legitimate organizations both local and foreign in promoting active- nonviolent society as a practical means towards sustainable socio-economic development under a truly, just, united, peaceful healthy, and democratic society;
  6. Uplift the economic condition of the members through development of their skills and organizing leadership for alternative;
  7. Multi-livelihood programs as a means to continually educate its members;
  8. Uphold, respect and defend the dignity, sanctity, integrity of the natural world and the quality of life for all by creating and expanding spaces for peace;
  9. Rescue victims of drug dependents and prostitutions;
  10. Advocate the preservation of life, natural resources, environment health awareness, for a healthy, peaceful and progressive community to live on;
  11. Develop a sense of personal responsibility and stimulating the desire for responsible citizen.

The Seal

The elements present in the Samahang Ilokano - KABAGIS seal bear the following representations:

  • The following colors symbolize:
    • White - purity and honesty
    • Blue - peace and loyalty
    • Red - bravery and power
    • Yellow - dedication to excellence and outstanding performance
    • Green - prosperity
  • The Eagle symbolizes the Samahang Ilokano - KABAGIS' strong leadership and spiritual guidance in performing their respective duties, functions and responsibilities.
  • The Wheel represents a solid foundation for truly strong Ilokanos, active fellowship and camaraderie among its members who believe in the equity of justice, freedom, development and democracy, with the end in view of achieving a sustainable development for our society.
  • The Sword represents the word of God, who always continues to guide all members with His divine wisdom.
  • The Cobra represents bravery and power to conquer fear and the ability to survive.
